Tiny and closed out at Colorados today. Panga Drops managing to give a few shredable waves.
Strong winds again and not much swell. Fun shoulder high waves on the inside at Panga Drops.
Fun session at Panga Drops early. Mid morning the waves were looking OK, but too much wind.
Strong wind, but fun high tide sessions happening at Panga Drops the last few days!!
Small waves and strong offshore wind. Yoga session at Mark & Dave's with Kimmy. Every Tuesday at 8am!!
Same again - breezy, small waves and sunshine. Some fun to be had in close at Panga Drops.
Sunshine, 15-20mph offshore wind. Not enough swell for Colorados to give a rideable wave but occasional shoulder high sets coming in at Panga Drops.
Small waves and windy again today. We usually get a few periods of good waves in November and looks like the first will start Wednesday, Nov 7th on a 3ft 17 second swell. Today's photos were shot directly out front Southern Dream, linked above.
Tiny, tiny waves today and the wind is a little stronger. There's a bump in the swell next Wednesday which coincides with what threatens be the first papagayo (gale) force wind of the dry season. Its amazing how quickly the rains stopped and the winds started. Goodbye mud, hello dust!!
As small as it gets. The odd rideable wave, but never more than waist high. Offshore wind gusting up to 20mph. The forecast is showing the wind strength to increase over the next few days. Could be a early Papagayo. There's a bump in the swell at the end of the long range.
Colorados a mess right now - rippy, closed out... just not happening. BUT there's always Panga Drops!! Located 3 minutes walk along the beach from Colorados, Panga Drops might just as well be a secret spot for the amount of people that surf
it.
Lay day for team Hawaii so opted to shred a few uncrowded waves at Panga Drops. Head high and throwing a few lips for some fun floaters and occasional makeable barrel.
Barely any swell at the moment. The only wave breaking in the whole of Tola was Panga Drops... so super crowded. Some fun to be had on the shore break. Sunshine all day and light offshore wind.
Panga Drops was managing to serve up a few chest high nuggets through the morning (while it was flat over at Colorados).
New swell giving clean & consistent head high/ overhead waves at Panga Drops all day. Rippy, stirred-up mess over at the beach break.
Panga Drops working well this morning on the mid tide. 4-5ft, light offshores. Grey day.
Fresh southerly pulse nearing our shores, likely to get good for the weekend. Strong wind at the moment!!
Once again, an overcast start to the day and light winds. Steady 3-4ft working best at low tide.
We finally got some swell!!! Windy & overcast through the morning, more unseasonal rain (heavy!) at lunchtime, then got OK through the afternoon...
2-3ft, light offshore breeze. Sunny!!
The swell's down from yesterday, but some OK waves still coming through at Panga Drops. Light offshore. Scattered showers, some heavy.
With torrential rain though the night, a grey start to the day and light offshore winds its feeling more like May or June at the moment. Colorados not doing much early, but Panga Drops churning up some fun ones. Head high on the sets and clean.
January rains known locally as "Las Pintas" continue. These rains are no good for agriculture and actually cause normal dry season produce (mangos, jocotes, pipians) to rot fast. The surf still sucks...
The Papagayo hasn't and according to the forecast won't let up, more January rains. Some OK waves at Panga Drops, Colorados closed out.
In spite of the strong winds there was some fun to be had at Panga Drops today. First January rainbow I've ever seen!!
Panga Drops working nicely in the afternoon on the rising tide. 10mph side offshore breeze, plenty of swell.
Been blowing a gale the last week, with just the odd ridable wave sneaking through. Bouncy, backwashy high tide session at Panga Drops when the wind died down before sunset.
Solid, consistent overhead waves this morning at Panga Drops on a 2ft 17 second swell. Both lefts and rights working well through all tides.
Light wind, solid and consistent overhead waves for the late afternoon session at Panga Drops. Colorados still closing out.
We finally got some decent waves at Panga Drops after 4 days of weak swell and high wind. Colorados closing out.
