Intense fish activity in close to the beach. One hit me square in the side of the head as I paddled along trying to decide if I was watching at a shark beneath me or the reflection of a cloud. WHACK! Funny, after spotting sharks you see them everywhere for the next few days...
Excitement of the day provided courtesy of two large sharks I spotted swimming beneath me at Panga Drops this morning. Thankfully they showed little interest.

December 1st... welcome to the new month! Typically one of the weaker months for swell, December's trademark is stronger offshores which can get very strong Jan & Feb. 2011 and 2012 saw macking Christmas swells. Could 2013 be the three times in a row?
Had some grunt to it today, giving steady head high plus surf at Panga Drops. Great weather still with us, but this looks set to change from the weekend and through next week. Current models predicting light onshore wind until about November 10th.
Similar to yesterday; a lot of west in it and mostly rights. The week ahead is looking more settled with no faltering in the offshore winds. Several juicy swells on the radar through the end of the month and first few days of August.

Panga Drops giving an OK wave today with sets coming in overhead. Hard work to get into against moderate to strong offshore winds in the 20-30mph range.
Similar to yesterday; shoulder high, strong wind & fun waves to be had on the inside at Panga Drops. The locals are headed down for the Pitaya Fest surf comp tomorrow, Thursday. The contest is to be held Saturday & Sunday at Playa Hermosa (San Juan del Sur). Swell forecast looking none to good for the weekend, but Monday through next week holds promise with lighter winds and multiple pulses expected.
