Colonial home in downtown Granada
The home comprises three ensuite bedrooms, large living room and open plan kitchen/ dining area. There's a well illuminated plunge pool toward at the rear of the home. The perfect place to cool off from Granada's sometimes sweltering heat. All bedrooms have modern, whisper quiet high efficiency AC's and their own private bathrooms. There's a half bath accessible to the living areas. I use this house to work when in Nicaragua, so there are a few extra monitors about the place, fast WiFi and comfortable computer chairs.

Exquisitely large space, full of character. Prime location.

When both my friend and I said wow simultaneously you can get the jist of the rest of the review. Excellent casa. An exquisitely large space which is full of character and feels like home immediately. We didn’t cook here but everything seems catered for. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and some welcoming touches with the towels and flowers on beds.
The casa is a short safe walk from the cathedral area and not too far from the supermarket so it’s ideally situated for everything. My favourite bit was the pool. The photos do not do it justice. It’s considerably bigger than the photos and quite a feature. Excellent for those post hot walks. Finally, the host and their team have been absolutely brilliant. Guiding and helping us get around. Absolute superstars.

From your initial inquiry about the property, and throughout your stay, one of the two owners/managers of the home will respond within moments to your message. This accessibility extends to Maria Esther, the woman who greets, and graciously welcomes, you to the home. Though she doesn’t speak English, she is masterful at making herself understood.
The home itself is situated in a very safe neighborhood that is only a handful of blocks from all the major sights. Downstairs, if you keep the large, beautiful doors open, you can experience daily life of Granadans who live nearby, along with being able to delight in the clip clop, clip clop of some of the many carriages that carry both tourists and locals through the city. In addition to being a beautiful home in a strategic location, the house is a short 10 minute walk to a very well-stocked supermarket where you can purchase nearly anything you might need from personal (and baby) care items to produce, dairy and meat, to snacks, drinks, and a wide assortment of breads. We enjoyed our stay at Casa Marie, hope to return one day, and recommend it to future travelers!

Beautiful volcano views from the balcony!🌋

My girlfriend and I picked a city we knew nothing about and were taken care of very well at Casa Marie. It was clean and the a/c and wifi were both very welcomed amenities. The pool is a cool temperature and it was the perfect refreshment after being in the tropical heat all day. A/C is very cold in the room upstairs. You have a perfect southern view of the Volcano every morning (that might have been the most magical part of the trip). Quick note: Do not leave any food on counters. Ants will find it very quickly. The 1st floor is open air but still shielded from the rain just be aware that mosquitoes can fly through but the bedrooms are sealed shut. Also you can arrange to have transportation to and from the airport...just know that it is a US $50 fee each way. While that does seem expensive to me, I felt very trustworthy of the driver(Yamil) and he was already waiting for me, outside of baggage claim, with my name on a sign before I even arrived.
Upon arrival, we realized the bike and stand up paddle board were not available for use . It is not listed as an amenity but since they were in the photos, we thought they would be available. Fortunately you can rent bicycles near Central Park for $2/hr. If you are interested in horseback riding volcano tours... etc look into VaPues. Amazing service. They pick you right up from Casa Marie. Lastly, from start to finish, the communication from management at Casa Marie is impeccable. They respond very quickly to any and all of your questions. I would recommend this place to anyone with a sense of adventure but still enjoys a nice safe place to come home to each night!

Great colonial home and close to everything we wanted to do! This place is really something to see. If you love history and architecture don’t pass this home up! Wonderful rooftop terrace to have your coffee in the morning with a direct view of Mombacho.
A+ in every way and I would recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay in Granada with a family or a group!

Location is about an 8 minute walk to center park, which was ideal. Street was pretty quiet and we parked out front for 3 nights with no issue. Everything you need is a short walk away. There is a lot to do and see in this town. Enjoy!

This is a beautiful and spacious home in a great location.
The caretaker, Maria, was incredibly sweet and solicitous and even did a load of laundry for us.
The kitchen was well-stocked and the bedrooms were very comfortable. We really appreciated the a/c in the bedrooms.
My favorite part of the house was the upstairs patio/courtyard - great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book.”
