Playa Colorado: Head High, CleanFirst downpour of the year wrought havoc in a few of the houses yesterday, Sunday - but at the same time groomed the surf that had gotten messy from light onshore wind that started midday. Monday saw thumping surf was with biggest sets breaking on the outer bank at Colorados. Onshore winds that had been a feature on the forecast from midweek seem to have vanished. Light offshores now prevailing through the end of the forecast.
Playa Colorado: Head High, CleanSolid overhead, light offshores, surf firing from dawn to dusk. Looking smaller for the rest of the week but at least the onshore winds that were on the forecast haven't played out. The rest of the month looking decent with a couple stronger pulses forecast 24th - 26th then another 29th thru the end of the month.

They were shredding hard and getting in plenty of practice for the event starting Saturday. Thumping swell with period peaking out at 24 seconds will arrive Wednesday or Thursday and linger through Sunday for the first heats.

Shot today's photos 9am to 9:30am with the tide coming back in and size was down from the early morning session. Torrential rain storm in the afternoon gave the place a good drenching; good for plants/ bad for mud & bugs. Unsettled weather looks likely to last the next few days but the good news is the offshores should hold throughout.

Definitely more than the 7 second lull showing on the forecast would have indicated. Looks like the current pattern will continue through Sunday and possibly Monday before the offshores reestablish Tuesday. Thursday/ Friday looking hopeful for 5-star surf conditions with powerful 23 second swell & good weather.
