Fresh swell coming in. At first rippy & disorganized, but sorted itself out thorough the day and was working well by the afternoon. 17 seconds, 3ft at 210 degrees.

The pros are still here and killing it. Hopefully they'll stick about for the next swell due to start juicing-up on Sunday. Next week looks promising :)

Mystery swell Has lost its punch, but still pumping!! Super hollow barrels opening up over the southern sand bar.

Mystery swell filled in through the night and been pumping all day. Looking good for the week ahead and a big one on the long range for early next week.

Similar to yesterday, but double the size. Makeable 6-7ft barrels on both the left and right.

Whatever was wrong with the sandbanks has been righted and Colorados was finally back on form today. Steady 3ft fun all day. Crowds have reduced.

Fun session snatched in the early morning, but generally weak again today and onshore wind in the afternoon. From Saturday and through next week its looking promising. 1st rains of the season drawing near....

Fun dawn raiders session before the onshore kicked in mid morning. The winds are forecast to switch back offshore tomorrow. Onshore mess through the afternoon.

Strong southerly swell (17 seconds, 2ft at 197 degrees) giving steady supply of 5-6ft glassy barrels throughout the morning. Bombs going off through the afternoon, but messier with moderate sideshore wind and strong rips.

Fun start to the day, but got super crowded & tiny from 8am onwards. Not sure what's up with the models, but none of the latest swell happened. By sunset there was evidence of energy in the water, so maybe... maybe.... its gonna happen tomorrow...

The day after the beach club wall fell into the river, it was finally decided to reroute it back to the south of the break. In spite of the rivers unusual position this year, the wave out front at Colorados continues to deliver the goods...

The swell angle has increased a few degrees bringing the focus round to the right. Sets running head high, consistent, light offshore breeze.

Steady 15-20kts yesterday and a 23-25kts today, Wednesday. With May just round the corner today's session could mark the last of the winter 2012 season :(

Tail end of swell giving chest to head high waves this morning over at Lance's Left. Calm through the morning, onshore in the afternoon. Forecast showing the onshore sticking around for the next couple of days through Saturday & Sunday and should be back to normal by Monday.

Breezy today and not much swell left, so headed over to Playa Santo Domingo on the Isla de Ometepe. Perfect 12m conditions. Shallow, flat water. Super steady side-onshore wind. Stayed in Santa Cruz which has a great view out over the bay.

Fat & backwashy at dawn, started to shape up by 6:30am as the tide dropped. 10-15mph side offshore.

Whumping southerly (5ft, 15 seconds at 189 degrees) started to roll in midday Friday. Should crank up a notch Saturday then on Sunday will be replaced by a 17 second south westerly. A massive 3ft, 20 second swell has appeared at the end of the long range for Thursday, March 29th.

Took a while to settle down, but finally getting some clean waves off this latest swell. Fresh swell on its way!! Should be in tomorrow or Friday...

Some fun ones to be had over at Playa Amarillo in the shelter behind the bluff. No let up whatsoever in the gale force winds. This rub of Papagayo has been howling for almost 3 weeks straight. Forecast shows it to be ending soon.

Been a long wait, but we finally got some decent waves again!! Strong southerly pulse generated by storm somewhere off the coast Chile.

With torrential rain though the night, a grey start to the day and light offshore winds its feeling more like May or June at the moment. Colorados not doing much early, but Panga Drops churning up some fun ones. Head high on the sets and clean.

January rains known locally as "Las Pintas" continue. These rains are no good for agriculture and actually cause normal dry season produce (mangos, jocotes, pipians) to rot fast. The surf still sucks...

The Papagayo hasn't and according to the forecast won't let up, more January rains. Some OK waves at Panga Drops, Colorados closed out.

In spite of the strong winds there was some fun to be had at Panga Drops today. First January rainbow I've ever seen!!

Christmas Eve: Not feeling much like December with strong swell, cloudy skies and even a few drops of rain. Wind blowing at about 15mph from the North East which is side offshore.

The Christmas swell is here!! According to the forecast it should ramp up on Christmas Eve when the swell period is due to lengthen & strengthen...

Good waves all week, just been a bit hectic to take any photos. Dec 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th was looking like mid June w/ light wind and some truly bestial sets. Smaller now and fairly windy, but plenty of fun still to be had. The forecast is looking good for Christmas!!

OK waves all day really switched on for the late afternoon and sunset session when the wind died down. Swell direction is SW putting most of the action on the right toward the north of the break.

We were in the kitchen at The Wave Garden talking about the scenes to be used in the final stage of the mural when I spotted Lester in just the right place for this little nugget. Grabbing his camera, fumbling with the lens cap and the power switch Rob came up with the goods on this sequence of him getting shacked right past the front door...

Chest to head high and breezy.

Some good moments, but generally a stirred up mess with strongish south westerly swell and gusty side offshore breeze. Could get good on the tail end of the swell provided the winter offshores don't go ballistic- which is just what they are threatening to do.

Not huge, but definitely juicier than it has been the last few weeks. The odd decent size sneaker sets coming in. Distinct smell of roasting turkeys wafting out to the lineup on the gentle offshore breeze! All in all, a truly beautiful day. GRACIAS!!

Moderate side offshore wind through the day reduced for a a fun low tide sunset session. Occasional overhead sets showing up, but generally still small. Got pretty solid mid afternoon a couple of hours after high.

Been OK on the mid tides and occasional rogue sets coming in, but all in all the last 10 days have been tiny. Small swell due to start filling in tomorrow and a juicier swell showing up at the end of the long range (Tuesday week).
