Good size. Best first thing as wind picked up early and started closing out on falling tide.
Improved conditions for day two of the tournament 'Copa Pacific Surf' over at Popoyo, but winds still on the strong side.
Swell down today, but sets still coming in shoulder high+. Light winds, feeling the heat!!!
Light offshores, steady shoulder high surf. Looking small the next few days.
Strong winds to start the month. April tends to see the end of the winter winds and the some of the strongest southerlies. 2011 April played host to the strongest swell of the year.
Shoulder to head high on tail end of swell. Winds down. Looking small for the rest of the week.
Looking good for the weekend, but strong winds threatening to arrive same time as the swell.
Head high and clean early before side shore breeze kicked in mid morning.
Looks like the anticipated swell passed through early, peaking out yesterday afternoon. Today was shoulder high at best. Next swell expected Saturday, March 22nd. Between now and then background swell should keep it shoulder high. Similar to today.
2-3ft, clean. More of the same expected tomorrow Tuesday, possibly smaller. Wednesday should start picking up. Thursday 13th/ Friday 14th there's a thin band of swell peaking out at 19 seconds due in. Looking good toward the end of the month from the 24th - 27th...
Steady shoulder to head high surf today and light offshores. Swell expected to fill in tomorrow...
2-3ft fun. Should get good tomorrow...
Expected it to be smaller, but size was actually up Sunday. Sets coming in head high and some decent punch to some of them. Conditions expected to get good midweek on solid 17 second swell.
Small start to the month that officially marks the start of the Nicaragua Surf Season. Actual conditions were better than forecast; forecast was for it to be flat. Consistent waist to shoulder high.
Small today Wednesday and will be smaller still tomorrow, Friday. Looks like it may go completely flat over the weekend. HOWEVER.... March 6th through the middle of the month will be FIRING with a double tap of two powerful Southerlies. The first due in on the 6th. The second centered on the 13th. Swell Season 2014 begins.
Head high on sets, but inconsistent. Not much on the forecast through the rest of the week. March looks promising.
Solid head high surf this morning on the falling tide.
Light wind, fun day at Panga Drops! The Nica weather & surf conditions are as predictable as they come. March typically sees the first of the southern swells. March 5th we have a respectable southerly due in.
Improved conditions today with less wind and swell coming in a little stronger. Looks like Weds/ Thurs could get fun. First solid 'surf season' swell appearing on the end of the long range, March 5th.
Enjoying the uptick. Not looking promising the rest of the week, but due to pick up a little Friday, Feb 14th and through the weekend. March just round the corner now and will mark the start to the 2014 Southern Swell Season...
Small and closed out. Supposed to be some swell due in later today or tomorrow.
Ankle snappers once again, so took to playing on the beach
Small and windy. Unseasonable afternoon showers.
Clear skies, consistent 3-4ft. Fun today. There's a few days of bad weather lurking at the end of the long range forecast; looks like the close of the 2013 rains will happen sometime in the first half of November.
Lumpy, small surf today but great weather and first tinglings of steady offshore wind. Forecast looking good for the first half of next week and generally positive outlook for the last week of what has been a disappointing September.
Very small, barely breaking. Weather generally good with occasional rain showers. Wind varying between onshore and side onshore.
Compared to how its been the last few weeks, today was PUMPING! (Measured on the normal Nica yardstick was, err.... crap. Shoulder high & onshore. Aug/ Sept 2013 are special.)
Onshore wind BUT there's swell. Should see shoulder to head high surf the next few days and winds expected to swing side shore. Far from good; far better than it has been September so far.
Calm at dawn, but wind drifted onshore as day progressed. Overcast, drizzle and occasional heavy downpours from passing thunderstorms. Dry and dusty last week, green and muddy now; it doesn't take long for Nicaragua to green up once the rains arrive. Surf forecast not holding much promise for the first week of June. With luck, the winds will swing back offshore in time for the opening of the ISA Junior World Championships starting one week tomorrow at playa Jiquiliste.
Jump in the swell and more wind too. Dark clouds drifting by threatening rain. Hot again. Went over to Popoyo mid morning; not much happening there. Back at Colorados got fun just before the high tide with both the left and the right giving steady supply of shoulder to head high waves.
Light offshore winds and very, very hot day today. Steady shoulder high surf. Fun on the lefts with steep southerly swell angle. Looking good for next week...
Nothing special going on today at Colorados, so had a recce round some of the lesser known beaches in the area looking for unridden peaks. Seems we may have found some, both lefts and a right. Where? Err, don't know...
Slight bump in wave size today (Thursday) on a weak south westerly. Some decent rights coming in although inconsistent. Light offshores, partially overcast. Hot, hot day. Looking small Friday though the weekend with a short lived 18 second pulse expected to bring improved conditions through the early part of next week.
Occasionally head high on the sets. Hot today, partially overcast.
Fresh long period swell arriving and very strong rips. Lenin dragged out; had to be rescued. Not consistent, but occasionally breaking nicely on the right. Conditions will likely improve tomorrow once the swell settles. Light offshores, perfect weather.
Breezy offshores today and long period swell creating strong rips. Some good waves coming through from time to time but not consistent.
Great weather, consistent head high surf, light offshores all day. 20 second swell due in the day after tomorrow, Thursday, will likely leave Colorados a rippy, stirred up mess. Should calm through Friday and deliver decent conditions on its tail end through the weekend. A more potent, more southerly swell just appeared on the end of the long range for Thursday next week (April 11th). This should hold up better due to its angle.
Less wind, consistent shoulder to head high.
More consistent today with sets coming in head high. Strong wind. Not much swell expected through the weekend, should be OK Monday through Friday. Powerful swell peaking out at 20 seconds on the long range for Friday, April 5th and next weekend looking good.
