Pequeños olas para empezar el torneo y viento bastante fuerte.
Waist high waves order of the day, again. After a brief HOT and calm spell the winds are blowing again and keeping a cap on the soaring semana santa temperature... pushing 100 degrees!!
Surf's small again today and looks like it will be staying this way for the rest of the week and through the weekend. Next week looking OK and Easter Sunday there's a 16 second southerly due in and light offshores expected to coincide. Should be good!
Small and windy. Sheltered Santana fairing better than more exposed breaks.
Small today. Next pulse due in April 5th.
Tiny today and looking small through the weekend. Monday/ Tuesday there's a pulse due in. Feeling the HEAT now the winds have calmed! Late March/ April is often the hottest time of the year here in Nicaragua.
Small today. First half of March (from the 5th) will/ should be SOLID...
Head high sets coming in from time to time, but inconsistent. Nothing on the forecast through the rest of the week.
Consistent shoulder high, sets coming in head high. Light wind early, became breezy and clouded over mid morning.
Not much to get excited about today. Long range holds promise with the first swell of the season arriving March 4th.
More of the same; shoulder high surf, 15-20mph side offshore wind.
March is fast approaching. We usually have consistent swell in March as the South Pacific summer comes to an end. But can also be windy due to cold weather and high pressure up north. April is known for solid swell and the winter winds abate.
Small waves and windy, again. Midweek through Saturday looking OK although no let up expected in the winds. Unseasonable rain showers this morning.
No break in the breeze. Some swell giving shoulder to head high waves. Better than it has been.
Got fun on the rising tide midday. Lighter winds, great weather again.
Waist high & messy pretty much sums it up today. Still at daybreak, wind came onshore 11am. Not much swell. Big one on the way Wednesday/ Thursday next week, but doesn't look like the weather will cooperate. Onshore wind and rain set to dominate until Saturday, June 8th.
Gentle onshore through the night gave for a lumpy start to the day. Onshores increased through the morning veering sideshore as the day heated up, which cleaned things up midday. Yolanda finally evicted the boa from the roof. Adios, amigo.
Welcome, May! Not so welcome, onshore wind. Looks like the onshores will be with us through until Sunday. Back to business next week.
Light offshores, sunshine, inconsistent shoulder high waves. Should pick up tomorrow. Plague of jelly fish.
Waist high, high tide session on the inside at Panga Drops. Strong winds.
Light offshore, glassy. New swell expected tomorrow.
Strong offshores again today and small waves. No sign of the new swell, yet.
Smaller than yesterday and more wind. Looking OK for the rest of the week and March looks like it will be getting off to a good start.
Strong wind and small waves for the 2013 Pitaya Fest surf competition at Playa Hermosa, to the south of San Juan del Sur. Forecast looking a little better for the finals tomorrow. The Colorados locals leading their heats.
Beautiful weather with light offshore breeze, but barely any swell. Shoulder high and gutless at Panga Drops. Went to have a look round at Santana; not much happening there either.
Wind down a bit today and cloudy. Some small waves coming in at Panga Drops. Nothing up the beach at Colorados.
This year's beginning to get a groundhog day feel to it.... small & windy, small & windy, small & windy... Well, March isn't far away so with the arrival of Spring we should start seeing more swell. Not far away now. There are several small bumps due in next week. Lots of turtles about this year.
Increase in swell today, but the wind was cranking too. Tomorrow looking OK and there appear to be a couple of swells on the forecast for next week. Not much happening up at Colorados but plenty of fun waves to be picked off at Panga Drops.
Barely any waves today. Plenty of wind!
Small waves and breezy. Codo out there endangering the line up with a SUP and long metal pole...
Strong winds again and not much swell. Fun shoulder high waves on the inside at Panga Drops.
Small, mostly closed out. Weak swell and strong winds expected the first few days of February.
Less wind today and some small bumps coming in. There's finally light at the end of the tunnel with lighter winds and a 16 second swell due in Tuesday next week.
Less wind and small, clean conditions today. Some fun waves coming in on both the left and the right.
Small, messy (the wind had a lot of east in it today making for more side than offshore conditions) and mostly closed out. Nothing to get excited about on the forecast.
Weak swell giving waist high waves. Awkward swell angle means it was generally closed out again today. Nothing of interest showing on the forecast through the end of the long range.
Light offshores and although small there were waves. Period up to 17 seconds for the swell due in Saturday; hoping for some head high surf off that...
Strong wind today, so went to Granada to try wakeboarding. Nica Action Sports have a tidy set up there in the Marina de Cocibalca. Amazing views of Mombacho volcano as you wind through the Granada isletas. Make sure to check them out if you are in Granada!!
BIRDS everywhere!! Fish running in close to shore and flocks of gulls in to pick them off. Jacks being caught off the beach. Waist to shoulder high surf against 10-15mph offshore wind. Unseasonal rain in the afternoon. A bump in the swell showing Friday 21st will strengthen Christmas Eve and linger through Dec 27th. Bets are on for GOOD WAVES CHRISTMAS DAY....
