Sport Fishing, Gigante (Pastora Tours)

Activity provided by Pastora Tours (Gigante, Tola)

Multi tour agency offering professional deep sea sport fishing, kayak rentals, ATV adventures, boat charters, diving, spear fishing, snorkeling, surf trips and more!

Sport Fishing

Head out from Gigante in our Luhrs sport fishing boat. You will be experiencing the thrill of the catch within minutes of leaving the bay. Depending upon the season, we may be lucky enough to have dolphins come swim alongside the boat, or witness the majesty of whales breaching nearby.

Guided by the birds, years of experience & radar fish finders, our expert guides know exactly where to take you. Expect to catch mahi-mahi (dorado), red snapper, pacific mackerel, tuna and possibly marlin. You can throw them back, take them home. Or we can make sushi right there on the boat.

We bring complimentary snacks as well as alcoholic beverages. There’s a toilet in the galley.
  • $465 half day
  • $950 full day
  • Professional boat with toilet
  • Radar fish finder
  • Sushi with your catch!

Timing

We can go at a time of your picking, but suggest aiming to be on the water through sunrise or sunset.

For half day trips you should aim to set off as early as possible. Pre-dawn twilight is ideal. Get yourself in position to watch the sunrise and the fish are at their most active this time of the day. If you’re not an early morning person, set off mid afternoon to fish through the sunset. The half day experience is around 4 hours on the water.

For full day trips plan to leave as early as possible. The full day experience is 8 hours and will take you a lot further offshore where you are more likely to encounter marlin and other big game fish.

Costs

We offer two packages, half day (4 hours) for $465 or full day (8 hours) for $965.

Location

Trips leave from Gigante bay. Please arrive at least half an hour prior to your designated departure time fo trip planning, to cover the safety brief and to make sure we set sail on time.

Suitability? / What to wear? / What to bring?

The half day experience is suitable for adults and older kids 15yrs+. Potentially younger kids 12yrs+ with an interest in fishing and experience on the ocean could handle the half day experience. The full day experience is for battle hardened, serious fishermen. 8 hours at sea is not for the faint hearted.

Long sleeves are a good idea for sun protection. Make sure you bring a good quality hat, preferably with a means of securing it in case of strong winds. Sunglasses a must as the glare off the ocean is strong. Liberal application of high factor sunscreen and lip protection.

No need to bring water or snacks, we supply it. Bring your own alcoholic drinks if you plan on having more than a couple of beers/ shots.
